Connectivity and Networks

The FMC800 uses a Quectel EG915U-EU module with Teltonika TM2500 for LTE Cat 1 connections. It supports LTE FDD bands B1/B3/B7/B8/B20/B28 and GSM bands B2/B3/B5/B8, falling back to 2G when 4G is unavailable. The maximum data rate is 10 Mbps downlink and 5 Mbps uplink over LTE; up to 85.6 Kbps in both directions is possible via GPRS.

Data transmission is supported via SMS in TEXT and PDU formats as well as network protocols TCP, UDP, TLS, and MQTT. Time synchronization is performed via GNSS, NITZ, or NTP.

GNSS and Positioning

The tracker features a 33-channel receiver with an internal high-gain GNSS antenna and supports GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BEIDOU, QZSS, and AGPS. Tracking sensitivity is -165 dBm, positioning accuracy is less than 2.5 CEP, and speed accuracy is under 0.1 m/s.

Hot start takes less than one second, warm start under 25 seconds, and cold start under 35 seconds. Ignition detection is performed via the built-in accelerometer and external supply voltage.

Configuration and Management

Configuration and firmware updates are handled via FOTA Web, FOTA, the Teltonika Configurator (USB or Bluetooth), and the FMBT mobile app. SMS and GPRS commands are available for configuration, event handling, and debugging.

Four sleep modes are available: GPS Sleep, Online Deep Sleep, Deep Sleep, and Ultra Deep Sleep. Two status LEDs indicate operational status, and the internal flash memory is 128 MB.

Installation and Power Supply

The FMC800 connects via the OBDII plug and can alternatively be installed using a U-cable or cigarette lighter adapter. The input voltage range is 10 to 30 V DC, protected by an internal 3 A fuse at 125 V.

The built-in 170 mAh Li-Ion backup battery (3.7 V, 0.63 Wh) keeps the tracker operational during power loss. A micro-SIM card is required for mobile connectivity, and USB 2.0 is available via micro-USB.

Environmental Conditions and Certifications

The tracker operates in temperatures from -40 °C to +85 °C and at humidity levels of 5% to 95% non-condensing. It has an IP41 protection rating. The battery charges at 0 °C to +45 °C and discharges at -20 °C to +60 °C.

The FMC800 is certified to CE RED, E-Mark, and RCM standards.
