Connectivity & Communication

The Teltonika FTC880 supports 4G LTE Cat 1 and GSM/GPRS for cellular data transmission. Over LTE FDD Cat 1, the device achieves a maximum downlink speed of 10 Mbps and a maximum uplink speed of 5 Mbps. In GSM GPRS mode, maximum data rates are 85.6 Kbps in both directions. Data transmission is carried out via SMS (TEXT and PDU) as well as the network protocols TCP and UDP. The device uses a Nano-SIM card.

The LTE frequency bands vary depending on the module variant: The Quectel EG915UEU module with AG3335 supports LTE FDD Cat 1 bands B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20/B28, while the Quectel EG915ULA module with AG3335 covers bands B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B28/B66. In 2G mode, the device supports GSM bands B2/B3/B5/B8.

GNSS Positioning

The Teltonika FTC880 utilizes four satellite systems—GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and BEIDOU—via an L1 receiver with 75 channels. Positional accuracy is 1.8 m CEP, and speed accuracy is less than 0.1 m/s within a ±15% margin of error. Tracking sensitivity reaches -165 dBm. Hot start takes less than one second, warm start under 25 seconds, and cold start under 35 seconds. Time synchronization is performed via GNSS, NITZ, or NTP.

Telematics Scenarios & Sensors

An integrated accelerometer enables the Teltonika FTC880 to detect crashes, eco-driving behavior, excessive idling, as well as towing and geofencing scenarios. Ignition detection is achieved via the accelerometer and external supply voltage. Supported scenarios include Crash Detection, Over Speeding, Trip, Odometer, Eco Driving, Excessive Idling, Network Jamming Detection, Unplug Detection, Auto Geofence, Towing Detection, Static Navigation, and Custom Scenarios.

Data encoding is performed using Codec 8 Extended. Both the GNSS and cellular antennas are internal high-gain antennas.

Power Supply & Power Consumption

The Teltonika FTC880 is a battery-mounted device with an input voltage range of 10–30 V DC. An internal 3 A fuse rated at 125 V protects the circuit. The built-in backup battery is a 320 mAh Li-Ion battery with 3.7 V and 1.18 Wh. Under normal operation at 12 V, power consumption is less than 22.729 mA. In Online Deep Sleep mode, it drops to less than 5.314 mA, in Deep Sleep mode to less than 2.510 mA, and in Power Off Sleep to less than 0.601 mA.

Battery charging temperature ranges from 0 °C to 45 °C, while discharge temperature ranges from -20 °C to 60 °C. Battery storage temperatures vary by duration: one month at 10 °C to 50 °C, three months at 10 °C to 35 °C, and one year at 0 °C to 30 °C.

Configuration & Firmware Updates

Configuration and firmware updates for the Teltonika FTC880 are performed via FOTA WEB or the Teltonika Configuration Tool (TCT). Additionally, SMS-based configuration and debugging functions, as well as GPRS commands for configuration and debugging, are available. PC connection is made via USB 2.0 with a USB Type-C port. Two status LEDs indicate the device’s operational state. The device features 128 MB of internal flash memory. The cable connection uses a U-type cable.
