The Teltonika TSW101 is an industrial unmanaged PoE switch with five Gigabit Ethernet ports, four of which provide PoE+ compliant with IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at. It is ideal for automotive and IoT applications that combine central power delivery over Ethernet with data transfer up to 1000 Mbps.

Performance and Throughput

The TSW101 features five RJ45 ports supporting speeds of 10, 100, and 1000 Mbps, with a non-blocking bandwidth of 10 Gbps. The MAC address table supports 2000 entries, and jumbo frames up to 9216 bytes are supported. A 128 KB packet buffer ensures reliable data flow even during traffic spikes. The maximum Ethernet cable length is 100 m.

PoE Power Delivery

Ports 1 to 4 are classified as Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) and supply power to connected PDs in accordance with IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at. Each port delivers up to 30 W, with a total PoE power budget of 60 W. This allows centralised power delivery without requiring a separate power supply for each endpoint.

Power Supply and Consumption

The switch is powered via a 2-pin industrial DC connector with an input range of 9 to 30 VDC and can be connected directly to a 12 V or 24 V vehicle battery without an additional power supply. In idle mode, power consumption is 0.8 W, rising to a maximum of 2.2 W without PoE load. With full PoE utilisation, total power consumption reaches 106 W.

Housing and Mounting

The aluminium housing measures 115 × 32 × 95 mm and weighs 354 g. It is rated IP30. Mounting options include DIN rail or wall mounting (additional kit required), or the device can be placed on a flat surface. A grounding screw on the rear ensures proper potential equalisation.

Operating Conditions

The TSW101 is designed for harsh environments and operates at temperatures from -40 °C to +75 °C. Permissible humidity ranges from 10 % to 90 %, non-condensing. Auto MDI/MDIX on all ports simplifies cabling, as cable type and connection orientation do not need to be considered.

Certifications and Compliance

The device complies with IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3u, and 802.3az standards, as well as the safety standard EN IEC 62368-1:2020+A11:2020. Certifications include CE, REACH, RoHS, WEEE, UKCA, FCC, IC, CB, RCM, and E-Mark. The manufacturer’s warranty is 24 months.
