Key Benefits at a Glance

  • Carrier-Class Design: 2x2 dual-polarity MIMO sector antenna with 16 dBi gain
  • Seamless Integration: directly couples with RocketM radios (sold separately)
  • airMAX Technology: TDMA protocol eliminates hidden-node collisions and maximizes airtime efficiency
  • High Capacity: supports up to 100 airMAX clients per sector
  • Strong Isolation: cross-polarization isolation of at least 28 dB
  • Certified: complies with standard EN 302 326 DN2

Performance & airMAX Technology

The antenna leverages Ubiquiti’s airMAX protocol, which is based on Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA). Each client transmits and receives data in predefined time slots controlled by an intelligent access point controller. This time-slot method eliminates hidden-node collisions and significantly boosts airtime efficiency. Compared to conventional outdoor systems in its class, the combination of the airMAX Sector Antenna and RocketM delivers marked improvements in latency, throughput, and scalability.

An intelligent QoS feature prioritizes voice and video data for smooth streaming, making the antenna ideal for high-capacity, scalable, and long-range carrier-class links.

Applications & Deployment

The airMAX Sector Antenna provides wide-area sector coverage and is designed for point-to-multipoint configurations. When paired with a RocketM radio, it forms a high-performance base station, offering network architects flexible deployment options. Typical use cases include connecting residential areas, internet cafés, small businesses, outdoor hotspots, and corporate buildings to an ISP network.

In addition to PtMP coverage, the antenna can be used in point-to-point backhaul links, enabling high-bandwidth wireless connections between backbone nodes.

Integration with RocketM

The antenna is engineered to integrate seamlessly with RocketM radios, which are sold separately. Combining the range of the airMAX Sector Antenna with a RocketM radio creates a powerful base station. This versatile pairing gives network architects flexibility in designing and deploying wireless carrier-class infrastructure.
