The Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch 8 (ES-8-150W) is a managed PoE+ Gigabit switch that provides a non-blocking throughput rate of 10 Gbit/s across eight Gigabit RJ45 ports and two SFP uplinks. Performance & Throughput

The EdgeSwitch 8 delivers a wire-speed, non-blocking throughput rate of 10 Gbit/s, ensuring that all ports can forward traffic simultaneously without packet loss. With a switching capacity of 20 Gbit/s and a forwarding rate of 14,88 million packets per second, it handles demanding data, voice, and video applications. The eight Gigabit RJ45 ports support 10/100/1000 Mbit/s connections, while the two SFP ports provide 1-Gbit/s fiber uplinks for extended network reach.

PoE Power & Flexibility

The switch features a built-in 150 W power supply that supports automatic detection of IEEE 802.3af/at PoE+ with up to 34,2 W per port, as well as configurable 24V Passive PoE (up to 17 W per port). This dual-mode PoE capability simplifies powering UniFi access points, IP cameras, and other PoE devices. The ES-8-150W can also use an external 42–56 VDC power source via the terminal block input for redundant or standalone DC operation. Total power consumption is up to 150 W including PoE output, or 20 W without PoE.

Comprehensive Management

Administrators can manage the switch via an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) or an industry-standard command-line interface (CLI), accessible via the RJ45 serial port or Ethernet (in-band/out-of-band).

Deployment & Physical Design

The compact housing (204 x 43 x 235 mm) and the included mounting brackets allow wall or desktop mounting. The switch weighs 1,72 kg (1,8 kg with brackets). It is designed for use in harsh environments and withstands operating temperatures of -25 to 45 °C (at 150 W load) or -25 to 55 °C (at 100 W load), and even -25 to 60 °C with external DC power. Humidity tolerance is 5 to 95 % non-condensing. The device meets the shock and vibration standards of ETSI300-019-1.4 and offers ESD/EMP protection of ±24 kV.
