Performance & Throughput
The LTU LR leverages Ubiquiti’s custom LTU silicon to achieve real TCP/IP throughput exceeding 600 Mbps, with a future firmware upgrade path to 1+ Gbps. It supports modulation rates up to 4096QAM and flexible channel widths of 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 MHz, with up to 100 MHz planned for future firmware. Frequency split operation allows independent TX and RX channels, reducing co-location interference. Auto Output Power and AP-controlled TX power management help maintain optimal signal levels across the PtMP network.
Antenna & Physical Design
The integrated long-range 26 dBi antenna features High-Power InnerFeed technology, eliminating the need for external cabling between radio and feedhorn. The outdoor UV-stabilised plastic enclosure withstands harsh environments, with an operating temperature range of -40 to 60° C and humidity tolerance from 5 to 95% noncondensing. ESD/EMP protection is rated at ±24 kV contact/air. The unit mounts to a pole using the included kit and is engineered to survive wind speeds up to 200 km/h, with a wind loading of 550 N at that velocity.
Management & Security
Configuration and monitoring are handled through the LTU Configuration Interface or the Ubiquiti Network Management System (UNMS). A built-in Bluetooth LE management radio (2400–2483.5 MHz) enables convenient local setup. Wireless security is enforced with WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption, and the radio supports both bridged and built-in hardware NAT router modes to match deployment requirements.
Deployment Flexibility
The LTU LR functions as a subscriber station in PtMP topologies, connecting to a compatible basestation. It is powered via 24V passive PoE (pairs 4, 5+; 7, 8-) with a voltage range of 22–26V, and a 24V, 0.5A Gigabit PoE adapter is included. A single 10/100/1000 Ethernet port provides the network interface. Maximum power consumption is 8.5W, and the device weighs 1.360 kg without the mount (1.735 kg with mount).
