Performance & Throughput

The NanoBeam 5AC Gen2 leverages the airMAX ac protocol to maximize spectral efficiency and throughput. It supports selectable channel widths of 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 80 MHz in point-to-point mode, and 10, 20, 30, or 40 MHz in point-to-multipoint mode. With an output power of 25 dBm and a high-gain 19 dBi antenna, the device maintains strong signal levels over extended distances. The integrated antenna focuses RF energy in a tight beamwidth, significantly improving noise immunity by spatially filtering out interference from other 5 GHz sources.

Design & Deployment

The radio and antenna are combined into a single, efficient unit that achieves maximum gain from a minimal footprint. The enclosure is made of outdoor UV-stabilized plastic, and the device weighs only 0.530 kg with the included mount. Mounting options include pole-mount (kit included) and wall-mount, with overall dimensions of 189 x 189 x 125 mm. The NanoBeam 5AC Gen2 is powered via a 24V, 0.5A Gigabit PoE adapter, consuming a maximum of 8.5W.

Management & Control

A dedicated 2.4 GHz management radio allows administrators to configure and monitor the device without impacting user traffic. Key management features include automatic distance selection (ACK timing) for optimized link performance, dynamic configuration changes, and instant input validation. The device also provides two 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports and LED indicators for power, Ethernet, and four software-adjustable signal strength levels that can be mapped to custom RSSI thresholds.

Reliability & Environmental Hardening

Engineered for harsh outdoor conditions, the NanoBeam 5AC Gen2 operates reliably in temperatures from -40 to 80° C and humidity from 5 to 95% noncondensing. It withstands wind speeds up to 200 km/h, with a wind loading of 45.4 N at that velocity. Electrostatic discharge protection is rated at ±24 kV for both air and contact discharges. The device meets rigorous environmental standards, including IEC 68-2-11 (Salt Fog), IEC 68-2-6 (Vibration), IEC 68-2-14 (Temperature Shock), IEC 68-2-5 (UV), and ETS 300 019-1-4 (Wind-Driven Rain), and carries CE, FCC, IC, and RoHS certifications.
