Performance Features and Throughput
The PBE-M5-620 operates in the 5 GHz frequency band from 5150 to 5875 MHz and supports channel widths of 5, 8, 10, 20, 30, and 40 MHz. With a maximum output power of 24 dBm and an antenna gain of 29 dBi, it achieves high range and a data throughput of over 150 Mbit/s. The dual-linear polarization and a maximum VSWR of 1.6:1 ensure efficient signal transmission. An integrated Atheros MIPS 74Kc processor running at 560 MHz ensures fast packet processing and reliable performance even under heavy load.
Robust Design for Outdoor Use
The housing is made of UV-stabilized plastic, while the reflector and mounting brackets are constructed from powder-coated, galvanized steel. GEOMET-coated mounting hardware provides additional corrosion protection. The antenna is designed for extreme weather conditions: it withstands wind speeds of up to 200 km/h and a wind load of 1510 N. The operating temperature range is from -40 to 70 °C with a relative humidity of 5 to 95% (non-condensing). Comprehensive ESD/EMP protection of ±24 kV (air and contact discharge) protects the electronics. The PBE-M5-620 meets CE, FCC, IC, and RoHS certifications and has passed the following environmental tests: salt spray test according to IEC 68-2-11, vibration test according to IEC 68-2-6, thermal shock test according to IEC 68-2-14, UV test according to IEC 68-2-5 at 40 °C, as well as wind and rain test according to ETS 300 019-1-4.
Easy Installation and Alignment
The integrated mechanical tilt allows for a 20° upward tilt and a 20° downward tilt for precise alignment. The antenna feed can be released with a push button, simplifying installation and maintenance. The package includes a pole-mounting bracket. Software-adjustable signal-strength LEDs (Power, LAN, 4x WLAN) support optimal alignment by being assignable to custom RSSI thresholds. Power is supplied via passive PoE (24 V, 0.5 A) with an included Gigabit PoE injector; maximum power consumption is 8.5 W.
