The Ubiquiti UniFi 8-Port GbE PoE+ is a compact Layer-2 Gigabit switch with eight RJ45 ports, featuring seven PoE+ output ports and one PoE++ input port, and can be centrally managed via the UniFi Network platform. The forwarding rate is 12 Mpps. With a MAC address table size of 4,000 entries and support for up to 256 VLANs, the device is designed for structured network segmentation in small to medium-sized environments. Jumbo Frames are supported, as well as STP and RSTP for redundant path management. Power over Ethernet and Power Supply The switch can be powered via a PoE++ input or an external AC/DC adapter (adapter not included). The supported voltage range is 50–57 V DC/PoE. With PoE++ input, a total of 42 W of PoE power is available; with PoE+ input, 16 W; and with a 210 W AC adapter, up to 202 W. The maximum PoE+ power per port is 30 W. The device’s power consumption is 9 W without PoE output when powered via PoE, and 8 W without PoE output when powered via an adapter. Management and Features Management is handled via in-band Ethernet and is integrated into the UniFi Network platform, starting from version 8.0.28. The switch supports Egress Rate Limiting, Flow Control, Storm Control, as well as multicast and broadcast rate limiting. Port Isolation and Port Mirroring are also available. Loop Protection safeguards against accidental network loops. These Layer-2 features enable granular control of traffic and port configuration within the UniFi ecosystem. Design and Deployment The enclosure is made of polycarbonate and measures 203 x 76 x 33 mm, with a device weight of 320 g and a wall-mount bracket weight of 45 g.
