SKU: decs-y3-lic|200 ready to ship

D-ECS (D-Link Edge Cloud Service) is D-Link's central, AWS-hosted cloud management platform for 4G/5G M2M devices. It brings together status monitoring, traffic analysis, device management and security features for modems, PoE modems, routers, IIoT gateways and transit gateways in a single dashboard. This DECS-Y3-LIC license activates remote management for exactly one device for a 3-year term — D-Link also offers a free 3-month trial (DECS-T0-LIC) or a 1-year license (DECS-Y1-LIC) as alternatives.

Licensing Model

Each license is bound to exactly one device via activation binding (1 license = 1 device). SP and organization admins import purchased license keys, assign them hierarchically to sub-organizations, and track expiration dates and remaining terms. The platform is built for multi-tenant use, making it equally suitable for system integrators managing devices for several customers at once.

Who Should Choose the 3-Year License?

DECS-Y3-LIC suits operators with long-term rollouts in mind, such as fleet-wide deployments or multi-year maintenance contracts, where a one-time license purchase avoids the administrative overhead of annual renewals. Since the license is bound per device, the 3-year term is most cost-effective for devices with a planned service life of at least three years.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is the 3-year license worth it compared to the 1-year license?
Functionally identical, only the term differs (3 years instead of 1) – useful when a device is to be managed centrally over the long term without renewing the license every year.
Can the DECS-Y3-LIC license be transferred to another device?
The license model works via per-device activation/deactivation; for a transfer to another device, we recommend contacting Ascend sales in advance.
What is the difference to the free DECS-T0-LIC trial license?
DECS-T0-LIC is a 3-month trial license for 1 device; DECS-Y3-LIC is the paid 3-year full version with identical functionality.
What is D-Link D-ECS (Edge Cloud Service)?
D-ECS is an AWS-hosted, multi-tenant cloud management platform for D-Link's 4G/5G M2M portfolio. It provides a device overview with map view, remote maintenance (reboot, reset, firmware and configuration rollout), scheduled tasks, alerting on status or traffic thresholds, and role-based user management with SAML 2.0 SSO. Using it requires a separate D-ECS license, bound 1 license per device.
What is the difference between the 1-year and 3-year D-ECS license?
Both licenses (DECS-Y1-LIC, DECS-Y3-LIC) unlock identical D-ECS functionality for exactly 1 device. The only difference is the term: 1 year vs. 3 years from activation.
