Ports and Power over Ethernet

The switch provides 24 10/100/1000BASE-T ports with PoE support compliant with IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at. The total PoE budget is 193 W, enabling multiple devices such as IP phones, wireless access points, or surveillance cameras to be powered directly via Ethernet cable. The PoE ports are complemented by four Gigabit RJ45/SFP combo ports, configurable as copper or fiber uplinks and supporting 100/1000 Mbps.

All twisted-pair ports support Auto-MDI/MDIX, eliminating the need for manual cable crossover. Category 5 and 5e UTP cables are supported up to a maximum length of 100 m. Duplex modes include full and half duplex for 10/100 Mbps, and full duplex for 1000 Mbps.

Layer 2 Features and Static Routing

The switching capacity is 56 Gbps with a maximum forwarding rate of 41.7 Mpps for 64-byte packets. The MAC address table supports 8,000 entries, supplemented by 256 static MAC addresses. The switch operates using the store-and-forward method and supports jumbo frames up to 10,000 bytes.

Layer 2 features include IGMP Snooping (v1/v2 with v3 awareness, 256 IGMP groups, at least 64 static multicast addresses, IGMP per VLAN, Auto-IGMP, and IGMP Snooping Querier), Port Mirroring, Spanning Tree Protocol (802.1D STP, 802.1W RSTP, 802.1s MSTP), and Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) with up to 8 groups and 8 ports per group. IEEE 802.3x flow control enables reliable data transmission for direct server connections.

L2+ Static Routing allows configuration of 124 IPv4 and 50 IPv6 static routes, enabling network administrators to segment the network into VLANs and improve efficiency. VLAN features include 802.1Q with up to 256 static VLAN groups, configurable VIDs from 1 to 4094, Asymmetric VLAN, Auto Voice VLAN, and Auto Surveillance VLAN.

Quality of Service

The switch supports 802.1p Quality of Service with 8 queues per port. Scheduling methods include Strict and Weighted Round Robin (WRR). Bandwidth control is port-based with a minimum granularity of 16 Kbps.

Security Features

Security features include the D-Link Safeguard Engine to protect against traffic flooding, 802.1X port-based authentication, and Access Control Lists (ACLs). The ACL implementation supports up to 50 access lists and up to 768 rules, shared by IPv4, MAC, and IPv6.

Port Security allows up to 64 MAC addresses per port. To prevent ARP spoofing, up to 127 entries can be configured.

Management and Interfaces

Management interfaces include a web-based GUI, Compact CLI, Telnet server, and SNMP (v1/v2c/v3). Integration with central management platforms is supported via D-View 8 and the D-Link Network Assistant Utility. The management interface can optionally be switched between Standard mode and Surveillance mode, enabling targeted support for surveillance scenarios.

The switch is IPv6-ready, ensuring future-proof addressing standards. The buffer memory is 4.1 Mbits, the main memory is DDR3 with 128 MB, and the flash memory is 32 MB.

Chassis, Power Supply, and Mounting

The switch is housed in a 1U form factor, measuring 440 × 250 × 44 mm and weighing 3.75 kg. Mounting options include desktop and 19-inch rack mounting; the necessary brackets are included. Two fans provide cooling; noise levels are 51.7 dB(A) at high speed and 44.9 dB(A) at low speed.

Power is supplied via an internal universal power supply with 100 to 240 V AC at 50/60 Hz. Maximum power consumption with PoE enabled is 263.9 W (100 V) or 247.4 W (240 V); without PoE, it is 30.6 W (100 V) or 28.1 W (240 V). Standby power consumption is 19.6 W (100 V) or 16.6 W (240 V). Heat dissipation is 900.36 BTU/hr at 100 V and 844.23 BTU/hr at 240 V. The MTBF is 469,262 hours.

Certifications and Environmental Conditions

The switch holds EMI certifications including CE Class A, VCCI Class A, FCC Class A, BSMI, and CQC, as well as safety certifications including CB, UL, BSMI, LVD, and CQC. Operating temperature ranges from -5 to 50 °C, and storage temperature from -20 to 70 °C. Relative humidity ranges from 0% to 95% for both operation and storage.
