The DGS-108 features eight Gigabit Ethernet ports with a switching capacity of 16 Gbps. The store-and-forward transmission method ensures each packet is fully inspected before forwarding. The MAC address table supports 4K entries with automatic learning, and the RAM buffer holds 192 KB. The packet forwarding rate reaches 1,488,000 pps per port for Gigabit Ethernet in full-duplex mode.

All ports support automatic MDI/MDIX adjustment, allowing standard patch cables to be used for any connection. IEEE 802.1p Quality of Service with four queues per port enables traffic prioritization on the local network. Jumbo frames are supported, and a cable diagnostics feature is also available.
