Cellular Performance

The two built-in 5G modems deliver theoretical download speeds of up to 3.4 Gbps and upload speeds of up to 900 Mbps. When 5G is unavailable, the modems fall back to LTE CAT-20 with download speeds of up to 1.6 Gbps and upload speeds of up to 200 Mbps. Eight internal long-range-optimized antennas minimize cable loss by integrating the router and antennas into a single enclosure. According to the manufacturer, the device maintained connectivity at distances of over 40 km offshore; actual range depends on deployment conditions.

The Dome Pro LR supports a wide range of 5G (SA and NSA) Sub-6GHz bands, including n1, n2, n3, n5, n7, n8, n12, n13, n14, n18, n20, n25, n26, n28, n29, n30, n38, n40, n41, n48, n66, n70, n71, n75, n76, n77, n78, n79, as well as an extensive set of LTE bands. The device is certified for use with AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and FirstNet in the U.S. Supported SIM options include Nano-SIM (4FF), Peplink eSIM, BYO eSIM with two profiles per modem, RemoteSIM via SIM Injector, and FusionSIM.

Routing, VPN, and Security

The router delivers 1 Gbps throughput. SpeedFusion VPN provides hot failover, WAN smoothing, and bandwidth bonding with 256-bit AES encryption. SpeedFusion VPN throughput reaches 400 Mbps without encryption and 200 Mbps with 256-bit AES encryption. It supports site-to-site VPN, dynamic routing, pre-shared key and X.509 certificate authentication, and IPsec VPN for network-to-network connections.

The built-in stateful firewall protects against DoS attacks and web content blocking. Advanced QoS enables bandwidth reservation for user groups, individual limits, and application prioritization, including SIP, HTTPS, and VPN. NAT features include many-to-one and one-to-one translation, NAT pool, static routes, port forwarding, SIP ALG and H.323 ALG, as well as UPnP and NAT-PMP support.

Network Interfaces and Power

The device features one GE WAN/LAN port with 802.3at PoE output and one 2.5GE LAN port with 802.3bt PoE input. The WAN port can be converted to a LAN port for added flexibility. Power is supplied via 802.3at PoE+ (without PoE output) or 802.3bt PoE++ (with PoE output), enabling single-cable deployment. Maximum power consumption is 24 W, excluding PoE output. The two Ethernet ports allow connection to additional WAN sources such as Starlink or VSAT antennas.

Wi-Fi and Access Point Management

The Dome Pro LR supports simultaneous dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) with 2x2 MU-MIMO and two internal Wi-Fi antennas. The device can operate in access point mode or Wi-Fi WAN mode. The built-in access point controller supports the Pepwave AP series, automatic discovery and firmware updates, as well as profile configuration and Wi-Fi usage statistics collection.

Deployment and Management

The IP67-rated enclosure is designed for use in extreme outdoor conditions, including maritime environments. The operating temperature range is from -40 °C to +65 °C, with humidity tolerance from 15% to 95% non-condensing. The built-in GPS module with an internal antenna enables device location tracking and fleet management via the InControl 2 cloud platform. The recommended number of users is 1 to 150.
