Description

Key features

  • Dual SIM with automatic failover for weak signal, data limits, roaming, and other failover scenarios
  • PoE-in and PoE-out on 802.3af/at Ethernet ports for power and device daisy-chaining over a single cable
  • Operating range from -40 °C to 75 °C for outdoor installations in extreme weather conditions
  • RMS for centralised remote management and monitoring of device fleets
  • VPN with OpenVPN, IPsec, WireGuard, ZeroTier, Tinc, GRE, SSTP, PPTP, L2TP, and DMVPN
  • Modbus MQTT Gateway and support for IoT platforms such as Azure IoT Hub, Cumulocity, Cloud of Things, and ThingWorx

Mobile connectivity and failover

The router operates on LTE Cat 4 networks with download speeds up to 150 Mbps and upload speeds up to 50 Mbps. 3G connectivity provides download speeds up to 21 Mbps and upload speeds up to 5.76 Mbps, while 2G reaches 236.8 kbps in both directions. Supported 4G LTE-FDD bands are B1, B3, B5, B7, B8, B20, and B28; LTE-TDD bands are B38, B40, and B41; 3G bands are B1, B5, and B8; and 2G bands are B3 and B8.

The two SIM slots accept 2FF Mini SIM cards at 1.8 V/3 V and support automatic failover in cases of weak signal, data limits, SMS limits, roaming, no network, network denial, data connection failure, and SIM inactivity protection. The router provides mobile status indicators including RSSI, SINR, RSRP, RSRQ, EC/IO, RSCP, bytes sent and received, connected band, IMSI, and ICCID.

Networks, routing, and firewall

The two 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports can be configured as WAN and comply with IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3u, and 802.3az standards, with auto MDI/MDIX support. The router implements static routing, dynamic routing with BGP, OSPF v2, RIP v1/v2, EIGRP, and NHRP, as well as policy-based routing. Supported network protocols include TCP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6, ICMP, NTP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, SFTP, FTP, SMTP, SSL/TLS, ARP, VRRP, PPP, PPPoE, UPnP, SSH, DHCP, Telnet, SMPP, SNMP, MQTT, and Wake On Lan.

The built-in firewall offers port forwarding, traffic rules, custom rules, DMZ, NAT, NAT-T, and DDoS attack prevention with SYN flood protection, SSH attack prevention, HTTP/HTTPS attack prevention, and port scan prevention. Preconfigured rules can be enabled via the WebUI, while unlimited configuration is available through the CLI. VLAN is supported with port-based and tag-based separation, and QoS manages traffic priorities by source, destination, service, protocol, or port with WMM and 802.11e.

VPN, security, and authentication

The router supports VPN types including OpenVPN, IPsec with IKEv1 and IKEv2, GRE, GRE over IPsec, PPTP, L2TP, L2TP over IPsec, SSTP, DMVPN, ZeroTier, WireGuard, and Tinc. Authentication methods include pre-shared keys, digital certificates, X.509 certificates, TACACS+, Radius, and IP and login attempt blocking. SMS features include status checks, configuration, sending and reading via HTTP POST/GET, EMAIL to SMS, SMS to EMAIL, SMS to HTTP, SMS to SMS, scheduled SMS, autoreply, and SMPP. Sending and reading USSD messages is also supported.

Hotspot and IoT platforms

The captive portal hotspot supports internal or external Radius servers, SMS authorisation, internal or external landing pages, walled garden, user scripts, URL parameters, user groups, individual or group restrictions, user management, and nine customisable themes with the option to upload your own. The router integrates Modbus TCP with custom register block requests, Modbus MQTT Gateway, and Modbus TCP status control. Supported Modbus data formats include 8-bit INT and UINT, 16-bit INT and UINT with MSB or LSB first, 32-bit float, INT, and UINT in ABCD, DCBA, CDAB, and BADC formats, as well as HEX and ASCII.

Power and management

Power is supplied via 802.3af/at PoE-in with an input voltage range of 42.5 to 57.0 VDC and an RJ45 connector. The router features an 802.3af/at PoE-out port with a maximum power output of 24 W per port. Power consumption is less than 2.5 W at idle, less than 6 W at maximum load, and less than 21 W with maximum PoE output. It includes reverse polarity protection and surge/transient protection. Management and monitoring are available via Web UI, SSH v1 and v2, SMS, TR-069, MQTT, SNMP v1/v2/v3, Modbus, Teltonika Remote Management System, JSON-RPC, and FOTA.

Design and installation

The PC+ASA plastic enclosure with IP55 protection measures 110 x 49.30 x 235 mm and weighs 855 g. The included mounting bracket allows installation on vertical surfaces or poles. The operating temperature ranges from -40 °C to 75 °C with humidity from 10% to 90% non-condensing. The operating system is RutOS, based on OpenWrt Linux, with a 580 MHz Mediatek MIPS 24KEc CPU, 128 MB of RAM, and 16 MB of flash memory. Certifications include CE, UKCA, EAC, UCRF, and RCM, with a 24-month warranty.
