RS-485 Interface and Connectivity

The gateway features an RS-485 interface supporting full-duplex mode over four wires and half-duplex mode over two wires. Data transfer rates range from 300 to 115200 baud, with data bits configurable from 5 to 8, stop bits set to 1 or 2, and parity options including None, Even, or Odd. Flow control supports None, RTS/CTS, and Xon/Xoff modes. The interface is implemented via a DB9 connector with D−, R−, GND, D+, R+ pins, and a 9–30 V DC power input.

As a Modbus RTU Master, the gateway enables integration with industrial devices using the Modbus protocol. Supported Modbus RTU baud rates range from 300 to 115200. Two configurable digital inputs/outputs are located on the 4-pin power connector, expanding peripheral connectivity options.

Cellular Connectivity

The gateway supports 4G (LTE) Cat 1 networks with speeds up to 10 Mbps, 3G with speeds up to 42 Mbps, and 2G with speeds up to 236.8 kbps. It features a single Mini SIM (2FF) slot supporting 1.8 V or 3 V. The SMA-type antenna connector is designed for LTE, with maximum RF power output of 33 dBm for GSM, 24 dBm for WCDMA, and 23 dBm for LTE.

Supported frequency bands cover regions including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Korea, Thailand, and India: 4G (LTE-FDD) B1, B3, B7, B8, B20, B28A; 3G B1, B8; 2G B3, B8. For South America, Australia, New Zealand, and Taiwan, the gateway supports 4G (LTE-FDD) B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B8, B28; 4G (LTE-TDD) B40; 3G B1, B2, B5, B8; 2G B2, B3, B5, B8.

VPN and Network Protocols

The gateway supports OpenVPN with twelve encryption methods: DES-CBC, RC2-CBC, DES-EDE-CBC, DES-EDE3-CBC, DESX-CBC, BF-CBC, RC2-40-CBC, CAST5-CBC, RC2-64-CBC, AES-128-CBC, AES-192-CBC, and AES-256-CBC. IPsec supports up to five simultaneous tunnels with encryption methods including DES, 3DES, AES128, AES192, and AES256.

Supported network protocols include TCP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6, ICMP, NTP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL v3, TLS, SSH, DHCP, SNMP, and MQTT. The antenna operates at 698~960/1710~2690 MHz with 50 Ohm impedance, VSWR under 2, and a gain of 2 dBi, ensuring omnidirectional signal reception.

Design, Power, and Mounting

The gateway is housed in an aluminum enclosure with IP30 protection and dimensions of 64.4 × 74.5 × 25 mm. The device weighs 130 g. Mounting options include DIN-rail (bottom or side), flat surface, and direct PCB mounting on DIN-rail.

Power is supplied via a 4-pin industrial DC connector with an input range of 9–30 V DC, and maximum power consumption under 5 W. The device includes reverse polarity protection and overvoltage protection up to 33 V DC for durations of up to 10 µs. Operating temperature ranges from −40 °C to 75 °C, with humidity tolerance from 10 % to 90 % (non-condensing).

Management and Operating System

The gateway runs on RutOS, based on OpenWrt Linux. The ARM Cortex-A7 processor at 1.2 GHz handles processing tasks, with 128 MB of RAM (50 MB user-accessible) and 512 MB of flash memory (200 MB user-accessible). Remote management system (RMS) support enables centralized device control.

The front panel features three LED indicators for connection type, five for signal strength, and one for power status.

Certifications and Compliance

The gateway complies with CE/RED, EAC, RoHS, and WEEE standards. It meets the requirements of IEC 62368-1:2014, EN 62368-1:2014+A11:2017, EN 50385:2017, and EN 62232:2017.
