The Ubiquiti Access Gate Starter Kit is an access control system for one gate and one side door, managing up to 6,000 users. Unlocking is possible via facial recognition, NFC card, PIN, or mobile device, all controlled through the UniFi Access management application. The NFC interface operates at 13.56 MHz with a read range of less than 30 mm and supports the standards ISO/IEC 14443A, 14443B, 15693, and 18092, as well as MIFARE Classic, MIFARE DESFIRE, Sony FeliCa, and NFC Forum tags T1T to T5T. Wireless connectivity also includes Bluetooth Low Energy 4.2. The integrated camera delivers 8-megapixel images with a resolution of 2448 × 3264 pixels and a field of view of 79.4° horizontal, 97.5° vertical, and 118.2° diagonal. Video recording supports up to 30 frames per second at 2 megapixels (1200 × 1600, 3:4 aspect ratio). A proximity sensor and ALS sensor complete the sensor suite. Display and Intercom The capacitive multi-touch display measures 177 mm (7 inches) diagonally and offers a resolution of 1024 × 600 pixels with a typical maximum brightness of 1000 nits. An integrated microphone and 2 W speaker enable two-way intercom functionality. The mount is made of powder-coated stainless steel and supports wall mounting, an adapter for gooseneck bases, surface angle mounting, flush mounting, and an optional sunshade kit. Gate and Door Control The kit controls one gate and one side door via digital inputs for gate exit request, gate position, side door exit request, side door position, and emergency. Two dry-contact relays for the control unit and one auxiliary relay are rated for 30 V DC at up to 1 A each. An additional relay with power output controls the side door lock with 12 V DC at up to 1 A. A button is provided for factory reset. The manufacturer provides specific cable length recommendations based on wire gauge for different locks. For the UA-Lock-Electric with 400 mA, a 24 AWG cable supports up to 25 m, while an 18 AWG UACC-Cable-DoorLockRelay cable supports up to 100 m. For the UA-Lock-Magnetic-540kg with 500 mA, maximum lengths are 20 m for 24 AWG and 80 m for 18 AWG. For other locks drawing 1 A, the limits are 9 m for 24 AWG and 36 m for 18 AWG. Power Supply and Networking The included U-PoE++ PoE++ adapter powers the system with 48 V DC at 1.25 A output and supports a universal AC input range of 100 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz. The adapter features a Gigabit LAN port and achieves over 85% efficiency. The maximum PoE output per port is 60 W. At least Cat-5e cabling is recommended, with a minimum conductor gauge of 26 AWG for patch cables and 24 AWG for horizontal or riser cables. Two 2-wire PoE extenders are included. The system’s network interface includes one 10/100 MbE port and one Homeplug AV connection. The PoE input accepts PoE++ at 50 V DC with a maximum of 1.2 A, while the PoE output delivers PoE+ at 48 V DC with 0.72 A. The maximum power consumption without PoE output is 3 W. Surge protection is designed for both differential and common mode, with a clamping voltage of 11 V for data and 60 V for power. Security and Compliance The system is designed to meet industry security standards and is NDAA-compliant. Operating Conditions The intercom housing is designed for weather resistance, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The operating humidity range is 10 to 95%, non-condensing. The PoE++ adapter’s housing is made of polycarbonate. Dimensions are 106 × 63 × 34 mm, and the weight is 210 g.
