Performance & Throughput

The switch achieves a switching capacity of 3,6 Tbps and a non-blocking total throughput of 1,8 Tbps at a forwarding rate of 2,4 Bpps. The packet buffer is 24 MB, and the MAC address table supports up to 128.000 entries. It manages up to 1.000 VLANs as well as 256 static IPv4 routes and 512 IPv4-based and MAC-based access control lists each.

Layer 2 and Layer 3 Features

At Layer 2, the switch offers IGMP snooping with advanced configuration (querier, fast leave, router port), STP and RSTP, port isolation, port mirroring, LACP port aggregation, flow control, jumbo frames, LLDP-MED, and loop protection. In addition, MAC-based ACLs with device isolation, DHCP snooping and guarding, egress rate limiting, MAC address blocking, and MAC-based port restrictions are available. A voice VLAN is supported.

At Layer 3, the switch provides a DHCP server and DHCP relay for locally managed networks. Inter-VLAN routing between networks on the same switch, as well as static routing between local networks, are implemented. IP-based ACLs with network isolation round out the Layer 3 feature set.

Redundancy & Chassis Design

The SGCC steel chassis is designed for 19-Zoll four-post racks with post depths from 650 to 1.000 mm and features a 1U full-depth format. The dimensions are 442,4 × 43,7 × 496 mm. The device weighs 9,9 kg without mounting brackets and 10 kg with them. Two hot-swappable AC/DC 550W power supply modules and five hot-swappable fan modules ensure redundancy. Maximum power consumption is 340 W, with heat dissipation of 1.160 BTU/hr. ESD protection is specified at ±12 kV (air) and ±8 kV (contact).

Management & Compatibility

Management is handled via Ethernet AR and requires UniFi Network version 8.5.6 or later. The switch integrates into the UniFi platform, combining hardware and software management in a single interface. A 1,3-Zoll touchscreen LCM display enables local status monitoring directly on the device. LEDs for power supplies and fans are also present.
