Performance & Throughput

The UniFi AC Mesh Pro leverages 3x3 MIMO on both bands with six spatial streams, supporting channel bandwidths of 20, 40, and 80 MHz. On 5 GHz it achieves a maximum data rate of 1.3 Gbps (BW80), while 2.4 GHz reaches 450 Mbps (BW40). Supported 802.11ac data rates range from 6.5 Mbps to 1.3 Gbps (MCS0–MCS9 NSS1/2/3, VHT 20/40/80), and 802.11n rates span 6.5 Mbps to 450 Mbps (MCS0–MCS23, HT 20/40). Legacy 802.11a/g and 802.11b rates are also fully supported. Each radio can host up to 8 BSSIDs, and advanced QoS with WMM (Voice, Video, Best Effort, Background) ensures traffic prioritization.

Design & Deployment

Built for harsh environments, the access point features a polycarbonate enclosure rated for operation from -40 to 70° C and 5 to 95% noncondensing humidity. Its compact dimensions (⌀196.7 x 35 mm) and light weight (350 g device, 450 g with mount) simplify installation. Mounting options include ceiling and wall (Pro Mount supported). Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports provide data and PoE input, with a secondary port for bridging. Power is supplied via PoE (44–57V DC), and each unit includes a 48V, 0.5A PoE Gigabit adapter. Maximum power consumption is 9W.

Management & Security

All APs are managed through the UniFi Controller software, enabling centralized provisioning, monitoring, and configuration. Wireless security includes WEP, WPA-PSK, and WPA-Enterprise (WPA/WPA2, TKIP/AES). Advanced features such as 802.1Q VLANs, per-user rate limiting, guest traffic isolation, and a full captive hotspot portal (custom branding, voucher, payment-based, external server, password authentication, and guest network isolation) are supported. Private Pre-Shared Key (PPSK), RADIUS over TLS (RadSec), dynamic RADIUS-assigned VLAN, client device isolation, and WiFi schedules further enhance security and control. Band steering, 802.11v BSS transition, 802.11r fast roaming, and 802.11k radio resource management ensure seamless client connectivity.

Mesh Networking

Wireless meshing is enabled by default, allowing access points to form self-healing, resilient topologies. Wireless uplink functionality extends coverage without additional cabling, and band steering intelligently directs clients to the optimal frequency. Combined with advanced radio management and Passpoint (Hotspot 2.0) support, the UniFi AC Mesh Pro delivers reliable, high-density connectivity across campuses, corporate buildings, and hospitality venues.
