Description

The UniFi Enterprise Campus Switch Core is a Layer 3 core switch with 32 QSFP28 ports for 100G and 40G connections and a switching capacity of 6.4 Tbit/s. It is designed for system integrators and IT departments operating high-availability campus and data center networks with high port density and redundant design. Key Benefits at a Glance 32 × 100G/40G QSFP28: high-performance core connections with high port density 3.2 Tbit/s non-blocking throughput with 6.4 Tbit/s switching capacity MC-LAG support for redundant network architectures without a single point of failure Two hot-swappable power supplies (550 W) and five hot-swappable fan modules for high hardware availability Etherlighting™ for visual identification of QSFP28 connections 1.3-inch touchscreen for local status information directly on the device 1U full-depth rackmount in SGCC steel housing for four-post racks Performance & Throughput The switch offers a switching capacity of 6.4 Tbit/s and a total non-blocking throughput of 3.2 Tbit/s. The forwarding rate is 2.8 billion packets per second, and the packet buffer holds 24 MB. With support for up to 1,000 VLANs, a MAC address table of 128,000 entries, and 256 static IPv4 routes, the platform is built for demanding enterprise networks with high traffic volumes. Layer 3 & Layer 2 Features As a Layer 3 switch, the device supports inter-VLAN routing, static routing, a local DHCP server, and DHCP relay. At the Layer 2 level, the feature set includes LACP port aggregation, MC-LAG, STP and RSTP, IGMP snooping with advanced configuration options such as querier, fast leave, and router port, DHCP snooping and guarding, as well as port isolation and port mirroring. Additional features include MAC-based ACLs and port restrictions, IP-based ACLs with network isolation, egress rate limiting, flow control, MAC address blocking, jumbo frames, LLDP-MED, voice VLAN, and loop protection. IPv4 and MAC access lists are each available with up to 512 entries. Redundancy & Availability For high hardware availability, the switch features two hot-swappable AC/DC power supply modules, each rated at 550 W, along with five hot-swappable fan modules. Multi-chassis link aggregation (MC-LAG) enables redundant network designs across two core switches, supporting highly available infrastructures without a single central point of failure. The maximum power consumption is 360 W, and heat dissipation is rated at 1,228 BTU per hour. Design & Mounting The SGCC steel housing is designed as a 1U full-depth rackmount unit for four-post racks with a width of 482.6 mm (19 inches) and post depths of 650 to 1,000 mm. Dimensions are 442.4 × 43.7 × 480 mm. The weight is 9.7 kg without brackets and 9.8 kg with brackets. A 1.3-inch touchscreen displays local status information, and Etherlighting™ simplifies visual identification of QSFP28 connections. LED indicators provide information on Ethernet port status, power supplies, and fans. Port Layout & Management The front panel features 32 QSFP28 ports supporting 100G or 40G, one 1 GbE RJ45 management port (1G/100M/10M), and a console port. Management is handled via UniFi Network version 10.6.101 or later, complemented by an Ethernet-to-serial AR console. ESD protection is rated at ±12 kV in air and ±8 kV for contact. Use Cases The switch is designed for use as a high-performance core switch in campus, enterprise, and data center networks. With 32 QSFP28 ports, it is ideal for centrally aggregating large volumes of data and connecting high-performance distribution, aggregation, server, and storage infrastructures. It is targeted at system integrators, network administrators, and IT departments with demanding requirements for bandwidth, scalability, and redundancy.
