Performance & Layer 2 Features

The switch delivers a switching capacity of 56 Gbps and a maximum forwarding rate of 41.7 Mpps. The MAC address table supports 8,000 entries, and the packet buffer is 4.1 Mbits. Jumbo frames are supported, as is IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet to reduce power consumption during low utilisation.

Layer 2 features include 802.1Q tagged VLAN, management VLAN, voice VLAN, and VLAN group, with up to 256 static VLAN groups. IGMP Snooping with v1/v2/v3 awareness supports up to 256 groups. The switch implements Spanning Tree Protocol per 802.1D STP and 802.1w RSTP, Link Aggregation per 802.3ad, as well as HOL blocking prevention and 802.3x flow control.

PoE & Power Supply

Ports 1 to 24 support PoE per IEEE 802.3af/at with up to 30 W per port. The total PoE power budget is 370 W. The switch features an integrated power supply with 100 to 240 V AC, 50/60 Hz. In standby mode, power consumption is 17.1 W; without PoE load, it reaches a maximum of 29.8 W, and with full PoE load, up to 446.1 W. Heat dissipation is rated at 1,521.99 BTU/hour.

Management of the D-Link Nuclias Cloud Switch 28 Port PoE+

Management is cloud-based via the Nuclias platform, a web-based interface, and the Nuclias mobile app. The switch is designed as a cloud-managed device, enabling multi-site and multi-device management through a centralised interface. A one-year Nuclias Cloud management license is included.

The cable diagnostics feature detects faults and assesses cable quality, simplifying maintenance and troubleshooting. LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol) is also supported.

Security

The switch supports ingress-type Access Control Lists (ACLs) with up to 768 entries. Authentication is provided via 802.1X and a customisable captive portal. Port security and DHCP server screening protect against unauthorised devices. Management connections are SSL-encrypted (v1/v2/v3).
