Performance and Connectivity
The switch processes traffic with a switching capacity of 176 Gbps and a maximum forwarding rate of 130.95 Mpps using the store-and-forward method. The MAC address table supports up to 16,384 entries per device, including up to 512 static entries. Jumbo frames up to 12,288 bytes are supported, and bandwidth control operates with 8 Kbps granularity on a per-port, per-flow, and per-queue basis.
Link aggregation supports up to 32 groups per device, with eight ports per group. Spanning Tree Protocols include 802.1D STP, 802.1w RSTP, and 802.1s MSTP with BPDU filtering, root guard, and loop guard. Port mirroring supports one-to-one, many-to-one, and Tx/Rx mirroring in four groups. The switch supports auto or configurable MDI/MDIX for media interface exchange.
Stacking and Management
Physical stacking allows up to eight switches per stack with 80 Gbps bandwidth via 10GBase-T and/or SFP+ ports in ring or chain topology. Virtual stacking via D-Link Single IP Management (SIM) supports up to 32 units per virtual stack, enabling management of multiple devices under a single IP address.
Management interfaces include a web-based GUI with IPv4/IPv6 and SSL, a command-line interface (CLI), and Telnet server/client for IPv4/IPv6. SNMP v1/v2c/v3, sFlow, RMON v1/v2, and LLDP/LLDP-MED are also supported. An RJ-45 console port enables out-of-band CLI management. Encryption is provided via TLS 1.0/1.1/1.2 and SSH v2. DHCP auto-configuration/auto image simplifies initial deployment over the network.
Layer 3 Features and Routing
The switch supports advanced Layer 3 features, including OSPF v2/v3 with stub/NSSA area and OSPF passive interface, RIPv1/v2/ng, and Equal-Cost Multi-Path (ECMP) routing with text and MD5 authentication. The hardware routing table includes 1,024 entries shared by IPv4 and IPv6, where one IPv4 route occupies one entry and one IPv6 route occupies two entries. Up to 4,096 hardware Layer 3 forwarding entries are also shared between IPv4 and IPv6.
Static routes support a maximum of 512 IPv4 and 256 IPv6 entries. For multicast routing, the switch implements IGMP v1/v2/v3 with proxy, MLD v1/v2 with proxy, DVMRP v3, and PIM-SM/DM/SSM for IPv4 and IPv6. IGMP snooping manages 512 groups with 128 static groups, while MLD snooping manages 256 groups with 64 static groups. Both support per-VLAN snooping, fast leave, and snooping querier.
VLAN and Quality of Service
The switch supports up to 4K VLAN groups with VIDs from 1 to 4094. VLAN modes include 802.1Q, port-based Q-in-Q, selective Q-in-Q, Voice VLAN, MAC-based VLAN, subnet-based VLAN, Private VLAN, VLAN trunking, Super VLAN, Auto Surveillance VLAN, and protocol-based VLAN per 802.1v. GVRP, VLAN translation, multicast VLAN, and asymmetric VLAN are also available.
Quality of Service provides eight queues per port. Queue management supports strict priority, weighted round robin (WRR), strict + WRR, and weighted deficit round robin (WDRR). Bandwidth control operates on a per-port, per-flow, and per-queue basis with a minimum granularity of 8 Kbps.
Security and Compliance
Access Control Lists offer 1,536 ingress and 512 egress entries in hardware, plus 2,048 VLAN access map numbers. Port security supports up to 64 MAC addresses per port. Static ARP entries are limited to 256, and static ND entries to 128. IPv4 ARP includes 8,192 entries, while IPv6 ND includes 4,096 entries. The switch supports Microsoft Network Load Balancing (NLB) and provides password recovery and encryption.
The switch complies with EMC Class A, FCC Class A, IC Class A, RCM Class A, VCCI Class A, and BSMI Class A certification standards. Power is supplied via 100–240 VAC with a maximum power consumption of 51.2 W. Standby power consumption is 25.5 W at 100 V and 26.8 W at 240 V. Heat dissipation is rated at 174.6 BTU/h.
