D-Link DIS-210G-06P Industrial Gigabit Smart Managed PoE+ Switch, 6-Port

SKU: dis-210g-06p|Unavailable

The D-Link DIS-210G-06P is an industrial Gigabit Smart Managed PoE+ switch for applications where endpoint devices need power delivered directly over the network cable. Its extended operating temperature range, IP40 metal housing and DIN-rail mounting make it well suited for Industry 4.0 deployments, remote maintenance of distributed sites, PoE camera-based video surveillance in production facilities, and cabinet installations in traffic and smart-city infrastructure.

Description

Applications

Highlights

  • 4x Gigabit RJ-45 ports with IEEE 802.3af/at PoE+ (up to 30 W per port, 120 W total budget) plus 2x SFP slots
  • Smart Managed switch (Layer 2, including static routing) with a full VLAN, QoS and security feature set
  • Redundant 48–55 VDC power input with reverse-polarity and overcurrent protection
  • Operating temperature from -40 to 75 °C, IP40 metal housing for cabinet installation
  • Ring redundancy via ERPS with failover under 50 ms

Technical Overview

A 12 Gbps switching capacity and an 8.92 Mpps forwarding rate deliver line-rate throughput across all six ports, while the 4 PoE+ ports power endpoints such as IP cameras, wireless access points or sensors without a separate power supply. Network segmentation is handled through 802.1Q VLANs, Voice VLAN and Q-in-Q, while RSTP/MSTP, link aggregation and ERPS ring protection with sub-50 ms failover ensure high availability. Security features such as 802.1X, DHCP snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection and IP-MAC-Port binding protect critical industrial networks, and SNMPv3, sFlow and RMON enable centralized remote monitoring. Cable diagnostics, Link OAM (802.3ah) and Connectivity Fault Management (802.1ag) simplify troubleshooting across distributed installations, and an access control list of up to 895 IPv4 entries adds a further layer of traffic control. Access control is rounded out by 802.1X with RADIUS/TACACS+ accounting, MAC-based and web-based authentication, and Guest VLAN, while an 8,000-entry MAC address table plus 16 MB of flash and 128 MB of DRAM reliably handle larger network segments. The switch is compatible with common D-Link SFP transceivers such as the DIS-S301SX, DIS-S310LX or DIS-S330EX, and carries safety certifications (cUL, CB, CE, BSMI) plus EMI approvals (CE, FCC, VCCI, IC and others) for worldwide cabinet deployment.

Installation and Operation

The switch mounts on a DIN rail; brackets for wall mounting and optional rack mounting are available. Power is supplied redundantly via two terminal-block inputs (48–55 VDC) with reverse-polarity and overcurrent protection. 6 kV surge protection on all Gigabit ports, Energy Efficient Ethernet (IEEE 802.3az) and an MTBF of more than 200,000 hours support reliable continuous operation. Configuration is handled via the web GUI (HTTPS) or CLI, and the Dying Gasp function reports a power loss to the management system before the unit shuts down.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How large is the PoE budget of the DIS-210G-06P?
As the Smart Managed counterpart to the unmanaged DIS-100G-06P, the DIS-210G-06P shares the same PoE+ budget: 120 W spread across 4 ports, up to 30 W each — but here it can additionally be monitored via SNMP/CLI.
What management features does the DIS-210G-06P offer?
Web GUI (HTTPS), CLI, Telnet, SNMP v1/v2c/v3 with trap, sFlow, RMON v1/v2, NTP/SNTP, plus 802.1X access control with RADIUS/TACACS+.
How does the DIS-210G-06P differ from the DIS-210G-06?
Identical VLAN/QoS/security feature set, but the -06P additionally delivers PoE+ on 4 ports (120 W budget) and needs 48–55V DC input instead of 12–55V DC.
What does "Smart Managed" mean on the D-Link DIS-210G switches – is that the same as "L2+ Managed"?
No. D-Link officially lists the DIS-210G series as a "Layer 2 Gigabit Industrial Smart Managed Switch" (Layer 2 with static routing). The term "L2+ Managed" is reserved exclusively for the DIS-700G-28XS series within D-Link's industrial portfolio.
What is the difference between unmanaged, Smart Managed and managed/L2+ switches in D-Link's industrial portfolio?
Unmanaged switches (DIS-100E/DIS-100G series) are plug-and-play with no configuration interface. Smart Managed switches (DIS-210G) offer VLAN, QoS, security and SNMP through a web GUI/CLI with static routing. Fully managed switches (DIS-200G, DIS-300G, DIS-700G-28XS as L2+) add ring redundancy, ACLs and AAA; the DIS-310G-24X is the only model that is also Layer 3 capable (dynamic routing via RIP/OSPF/VRRP).
What do PoE+/PoE++ mean on D-Link DIS switches, and how large is the power budget?
PoE+ (IEEE 802.3af/at) delivers up to 30 W per port, PoE++ (802.3bt, DIS-210G-12UP only) up to 60 W on the first two ports. The total budget per switch is limited (e.g. 120 W on the DIS-210G-06P, 240 W on the DIS-210G-12P/-12UP and DIS-300G-14PSW) and is shared across all active PoE ports – with all ports under full load, the power actually available per port can fall below the per-port maximum.
