  • Redundant power supply: modular PSU in 1+1 design with load sharing
  • Modular cooling: five fans in N+1 design

Architecture and Performance

The switch provides a switching capacity of 2.16 Tbps with a maximum forwarding rate of 1607.04 Mpps. The MAC address table supports up to 288K entries, and the packet buffer is 32 MB. Jumbo frames up to 9436 bytes are supported. With up to 4K static VLAN groups and a maximum of 4094 VIDs, the device meets extensive segmentation requirements. The IPv4 routing table accommodates up to 32K entries, while the IPv6 routing table supports up to 16K entries. The IPv4 and IPv6 forwarding tables each support up to 144K entries.

Stacking and Virtual Management

Physical stacking allows up to 12 switches in a stack with up to 1200 Gbps bidirectional bandwidth. Virtual stacking supports up to 32 devices. This architecture enables the management of multiple switches as a single logical unit, scaling with growing network demands.

Routing and Multicast Features

The switch supports static routing for IPv4 (1K routes) and IPv6 (512 routes), as well as dynamic protocols such as RIP v1/v2, RIPng, OSPF, OSPFv3, and BGP. MPLS and VPLS are also available. For multicast, IGMP v1/v2/v3 snooping with up to 16K groups, PIM-SM, and DVMRP v3 are supported. IPv6 tunneling is also included. A total of 256 IP interfaces are available.

Layer 2 Features and High Availability

VLAN support includes 802.1Q, port-based, MAC-based, protocol-based, Super VLAN, Double VLAN (Q-in-Q), Selective Q-in-Q, Private VLAN, and VLAN Translation. GVRP enables up to 4K dynamic VLANs. Spanning Tree Protocol is supported in 802.1D STP, 802.1w RSTP, and 802.1s MSTP variants. Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS) and Link Aggregation per 802.1AX enhance redundancy. OAM features include 802.3ah, 802.1ag, and ITU-T Y.1731.

Security and Access Control

Access control is managed via 802.1X, RADIUS, and TACACS+ authentication. External user databases via POP3 and LDAP are supported, as is Microsoft NAP. IP-MAC-Port Binding (IMPB) and Smart Binding protect against address spoofing. Protection against ARP spoofing and BPDU attacks is implemented. ACLs are available as egress, ingress, and VLAN-based variants and can be configured based on packet content or time. Encryption is provided via SSH and SSL (v1/v2/v3).

Management and Monitoring

The switch can be monitored via SNMP v1/v2c/v3, RMON v1/v2, and sFlow. LLDP and LLDP-MED simplify network topology discovery. An RJ-45 console port enables out-of-band management, while a 10/100/1000 Base-T RJ-45 management port allows out-of-band remote management. A USB 2.0 Type-A port is included. QoS offers eight queues per port with bandwidth control granularity starting at 8 Kbps. CoS based on packet content is supported. Maintenance features include a switch locator LED and an ID tag.

Power Supply, Cooling, and Physical Characteristics

Power is supplied via a modular PSU in a 1+1 design with load-sharing functionality, supporting an input voltage of 100 to 240 V AC at 50/60 Hz. Maximum power consumption is 330.2 W, with 108.2 W in standby mode. Cooling is provided by five fans in an N+1 design. Heat dissipation is 1126 BTU/hr, and noise levels range from 69.7 to 76.6 dB(A). The device is rack-mountable with dimensions of 441.0 x 487.44 x 43.5 mm and weighs 9.88 kg. The MTBF is rated at 96,503 hours.

Certifications

The switch holds certifications including CB, cUL, LVD, FCC, CE, C-Tick, IC, and VCCI. These compliance marks confirm adherence to respective national and regional requirements for electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility.
