Performance & Transmission

The module operates at a data rate of 100 Gbit/s in accordance with the 100GBASE-LR4 standard. It combines four optical signals on one fiber per direction to transmit 100GbE. The nominal wavelengths are 1295 nm, 1300 nm, 1304 nm, and 1309 nm.

The transmit power range is between 4.5 and -4.3 dBm, while the receive power range spans from 4.5 to -10.6 dBm with a receiver sensitivity of -8.6 dBm. Over 9/125 µm single-mode fiber, the module supports a maximum cable length of 10 km.

Form Factor & Installation

As a hot-pluggable QSFP28 module, the transceiver can be inserted or removed while the switch remains powered on. Removing the module interrupts its connection. The duplex LC connector uses two fiber strands—one for transmitting and one for receiving.

The module is powered by 3.3 V and has a current draw of 1.06 A with a maximum input current of 1.21 A. Power consumption is 3.5 W. Dimensions are 120 × 18.35 × 8.5 mm.

Compatibility

D-Link confirms compatibility with the switch models DTS-5000-56S and the DXS-3610 series for 100GbE QSFP28 uplinks. The transceiver is sold separately from the switch. For support of specific switches and ports, D-Link recommends contacting the manufacturer.

Standards & Compliance

The module complies with IEEE 802.3ba and IEEE 802.3bm standards, as well as the QSFP28 MSA specification. It is designed for use in environments with humidity from 5 % to 95 % (non-condensing). Storage temperature ranges from -40 °C to 85 °C.
