Description

Advantages at a glance

  • PoE-powered: draws all power from an upstream PoE switch or injector via Port 5, with no external power supply required
  • PoE pass-through: delivers power to downstream devices on Ports 1 and 2 as a PSE
  • Gigabit throughput: 10 Gbps switching capacity across five 10/100/1000 Mbps ports
  • Silent operation: fanless design rated at 0 dB(A)
  • Energy-efficient: IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet compliant
  • Web-managed: browser-based GUI with IPv4 support for configuration and monitoring

Performance & Traffic Management

The switch provides a 10 Gbps switching capacity with a maximum forwarding rate of 7.4 Mpps across its five Gigabit Ethernet ports. Auto-negotiation is enabled on each port, and auto MDI/MDIX eliminates the need for crossover cabling. The switch supports IEEE 802.3x flow control and operates in half or full duplex at 10/100 Mbps and full duplex at 1000 Mbps. Jumbo frames up to 9216 bytes are supported for efficient large-payload transfers.

Bandwidth control operates on a per-port basis for both ingress and egress traffic with a minimum granularity of 8 Kb/s. Quality of Service is implemented through 802.1p prioritization with four queues per port, supporting both strict and Weighted Round Robin queue handling, along with DSCP marking. IGMP Snooping supports IGMPv1/v2 with IGMPv3 awareness and accommodates up to 128 groups, constraining multicast traffic to the ports that require it. A single static trunk group can combine 2 to 4 ports for aggregated links.

Security & VLAN

VLAN support includes port-based VLAN, 802.1Q tagged VLAN, Surveillance VLAN, Voice VLAN, Management VLAN, and Asymmetric VLAN, with up to 32 static VLAN groups and a maximum of 4094 VLAN IDs. These segmentation options allow different traffic types to be isolated on the same physical switch.

Security features include traffic segmentation, broadcast/multicast/unknown unicast storm control, port security, and static MAC address entries with a maximum of 32 entries. The MAC address table holds up to 2K entries, supporting dynamic learning across all five ports.

PoE Architecture & Power

Port 5 functions as the PD port, accepting 802.3af or 802.3at PoE input as the sole power source. Ports 1 and 2 serve as PSE ports, delivering PoE pass-through to downstream devices compliant with the 802.3af standard. When powered by 802.3at input, the available PoE power budget is 18W; with 802.3af input, the budget is 8W.

Maximum power consumption is 23.92W with PoE active and 2.32W with PoE off, with standby consumption at 1.46W. The switch is IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet compliant, reducing energy use during periods of low port utilization. The fanless ventilation design produces 0 dB(A) of acoustic output, making the switch suitable for noise-sensitive environments.

Management

The switch is configured and monitored through a web-based GUI that supports IPv4. The management interface provides access to VLAN configuration, bandwidth control, QoS settings, IGMP Snooping, storm control, and static MAC address entries. The switch includes 2 Mbytes of flash memory and a 1 Mbit packet buffer.
