Powerful Mobile and WAN Connectivity
The PDX bundles four embedded LTE-A Category 12 modems with a downlink rate of up to 600 Mbit/s and 150 Mbit/s uplink per modem. Redundant Mini-SIM slots (2FF) and support for Peplink eSIM, BYO eSIM, RemoteSIM, and FusionSIM ensure seamless connectivity even during carrier switches or SIM failures. Two external Gigabit Ethernet WAN ports (configurable as LAN) and the option to use one USB port as a WAN interface expand connection options.
The integrated 802.11ac Wi-Fi interface operates simultaneously in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands and achieves up to 1166 Mbit/s via 2x2 MIMO. It can be used as a WAN uplink or as an access point. Eight internal mobile antennas, one GPS antenna, and four Wi-Fi antennas are permanently installed and optimized for rugged use.
Rugged Design for Extreme Environments
The housing meets IP55 and IP65 protection ratings and is certified to MIL-STD-810H. The PDX reliably operates in temperatures from -40 °C to 45 °C and humidity levels from 15% to 95% (non-condensing). With dimensions of 502 x 401 x 188 mm and a weight of 15.9 kg, it is designed for permanent installation in vehicles, containers, or outdoor stations. Power is supplied via a wide-range input of 12 V to 56 V DC or 100 V to 240 V AC.
Comprehensive Security and VPN
The PDX offers a complete VPN solution with SpeedFusion VPN for site-to-site connections, bandwidth bonding, and hot failover. Encryption can be disabled or enabled with 256-bit AES, achieving throughput of 600 Mbit/s or 500 Mbit/s respectively. Additional features include IPsec (network-to-network) with X.509 certificates, PPTP/L2TP/OpenVPN server with local user, LDAP, RADIUS, and Active Directory authentication, as well as GRE tunnels.
A stateful firewall, DoS prevention, web blocking, and web filter blacklists protect the network. Advanced QoS functions allow prioritization of applications such as SIP, HTTPS, and VPN, as well as custom rules based on user groups.
Flexible Management and Deployment
Configuration is possible via the web interface, command line, or the cloud-based InControl management platform. The integrated AP controller enables automatic discovery and firmware management of Peplink access points, as well as centralized profile configuration. A captive portal with RADIUS authentication, time and volume quotas, and a customizable splash page supports both wired and wireless clients.
High availability is ensured by VRRP, BGP, OSPFv2, and RIPv2. The LAN side provides seven Gigabit Ethernet ports, of which up to seven can deliver 802.3at PoE. VLAN support, DHCP server with advanced options, and DNS proxy round out the feature set.
