RF performance

The NSM2 operates in the 2.4 GHz band (2412-2462 MHz) with an integrated antenna delivering 10.4–11.2 dBi gain. The antenna features dual linear polarization with a beamwidth of 55° in horizontal polarization, 53° in vertical polarization, and 27° in elevation. Cross-polarization isolation is at least 23 dB, and the maximum VSWR is 1.6:1.

Output power reaches 28 dBm at the lowest rates, with specific values per rate: 28 dBm ± 2 dB for 1–24 Mbps and airMAX MCS0–MCS3, decreasing to 24 dBm ± 2 dB at 54 Mbps. Receiver sensitivity ranges from -96 dBm ± 2 dB in airMAX MCS0 to -75 dBm ± 2 dB in airMAX MCS15 and 54 Mbps.

Design and power

The NSM2’s housing is made of UV-stabilized outdoor-grade plastic, with dimensions of 294 x 31 x 80 mm and a weight of 0.4 kg. It includes a pole-mount kit for easy installation. The device features an Atheros MIPS 24KC processor at 400 MHz, 32 MB of SDRAM, and 8 MB of Flash memory.

Power is supplied via passive Power over Ethernet (pairs 4, 5+; 7, 8 return) with a supported voltage range of 22–27V DC. A 24V, 0.5A PoE adapter is included. Maximum power consumption is 5.5 W. The device has two 10/100 MbE RJ45 Ethernet ports for network connectivity.

The NSM2 operates in temperatures from -30 to 75°C and supports ambient humidity from 5 to 95%. Shock and vibration resistance complies with the ETSI300-019-1.4 standard. Wireless certifications include FCC Part 15.247, IC RS210, and CE, along with RoHS certification.
