Description

The Ubiquiti PowerBeam AC is a 2.4 GHz airMAX ac high-performance directional wireless bridge with a 400 mm reflector antenna, designed for long-range point-to-point links. A dedicated Wi-Fi management radio simplifies setup, while the custom Ubiquiti airMAX ac processor delivers total throughput of over 450 Mbps. Key Benefits at a Glance airMAX ac protocol for long-range PtP links at 2.4 GHz Dedicated Wi-Fi management radio for out-of-band device management 400 mm reflector antenna with 18 dBi gain and mechanical tilt adjustment of ±20° Over 450 Mbps total throughput, including over 330 Mbps real TCP/IP throughput airOS 8 operating system with automatic channel selection and ACK timing WPA2 encryption and NDAA compliance Performance & Wireless Technology The PowerBeam AC operates in the 2.4 GHz band and supports the airMAX ac protocol for long-range point-to-point connections. The operating frequency ranges from 2412 to 2472 MHz worldwide, and from 2412 to 2462 MHz in the USA and Canada. Selectable channel widths of 10, 20, or 40 MHz are available in both PtP and PtMP modes. Total throughput exceeds 450 Mbps, with real TCP/IP throughput over 330 Mbps. Transmit power is rated at 27 dBm with a tolerance of ±2 dB. Modulation supports up to 8x 256QAM, though transmit power decreases to 22 dBm at 8x 256QAM (5/6). Receiver sensitivity ranges from -92 dBm at 1x BPSK (½) to -67 dBm at 8x 256QAM (5/6), each with ±2 dB tolerance. The device is powered by a custom Ubiquiti airMAX ac processor based on the MIPS 74Kc core. Enclosure & Mounting The 400 mm reflector antenna achieves 18 dBi gain. The enclosure is made of UV-stabilized plastic and powder-coated SPCC. With the radome, the device measures 420 x 420 x 289 mm and weighs 1.8 kg; including mounting hardware, the total weight is 1.795 kg. A mast mounting kit is included. Mechanical tilt adjustment allows ±20° vertical alignment. The device withstands wind speeds up to 200 km/h (125 mph), with a wind load of 342.5 N. Four LEDs indicate signal strength, while additional LEDs show power and Ethernet status. A reset button restores factory settings. Power & Interfaces The network interface consists of a single GbE RJ45 port. Power is supplied via passive PoE (2-pair: pins 4, 5+; 7, 8 return), with a supported voltage range of 20–27V DC. A 24V, 0.5A Gigabit PoE adapter is included. Maximum power consumption is 7.5W. ESD/EMP protection is rated at ±24 kV for air and contact discharge. Management & Security The PowerBeam AC is managed by airOS 8. Automatic channel selection identifies clear frequencies, while automatic distance selection adjusts ACK timing. Transmit power control can be set to automatic or manual. A dedicated Wi-Fi management radio operates separately from the main band, using 5150–5250 MHz worldwide or U-NII-3 (5725–5850 MHz) in the USA. Encryption is provided via WPA2. Environmental Testing & Certifications The device is designed for operation in temperatures from -40 to 70°C and humidity levels of 5 to 95% non-condensing. It undergoes multiple environmental tests: vibration testing per IEC 68-2-6, temperature shock testing per IEC 68-2-14, UV testing per IEC 68-2-5 at 40°C, salt fog testing per IEC 68-2-11 (equivalent to MIL-STD-810 G Method 509.5), and wind-driven rain testing per ETS 300 019-1-4 (equivalent to MIL-STD-810 G Method 506.5). Certifications include FCC, IC, and RoHS. The device is NDAA-compliant. The warranty covers 12 months.
