60 GHz Performance and Throughput

The integrated 60 GHz radio operates across the 57 to 71 GHz frequency range, supporting channel bandwidths of 2160 MHz and 1080 MHz. Modulation schemes include 16QAM and QPSK, while the high-gain 46 dBi antenna with an extremely narrow 0.8° (3 dB) beamwidth focuses energy for long-range links. This combination enables a total throughput of 2 Gbps (1 Gbps duplex) and a maximum range of 8 km. All wireless traffic is secured with WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption.

Rugged Outdoor Design

Engineered for harsh environments, the Wave LR features an IPX6-rated weatherproof enclosure made of UV-stabilized plastic. It operates reliably in temperatures from -40 to 60° C and humidity levels of 5 to 95% noncondensing. The galvanized steel mount withstands wind loading of 286 N at 200 km/h and accommodates pole diameters from 25 to 76.2 mm. The device measures Ø424.4 x 166.2 mm and weighs 2.59 kg without the mount, or 3.79 kg with the mount.

5 GHz Backup and Dual-Band Resilience

A secondary 5 GHz radio based on the 802.11ax (WiFi 6) standard provides a robust backup link. It delivers 22 dBi of antenna gain with dual-linear polarization and 20 dB cross-pol isolation. The 5 GHz beamwidth ranges from 8 to 10° (3 dB), and the radio supports channel bandwidths of 20, 40, and 80 MHz with modulation up to 1024QAM. Operating frequencies cover U-NII-1 and U-NII-3 bands for US/CA (5150–5250 MHz, 5725–5850 MHz) and 5150–5875 MHz worldwide, ensuring regulatory compliance across regions.

Power and Installation

The device is powered via passive PoE, accepting 48VDC (4-pairs or 2-pairs) or 24VDC (4-pairs). A 48VDC, 0.65A gigabit PoE adapter is included, and maximum power consumption is 18W. A single GbE RJ45 port provides the network interface. Onboard GPS simplifies site surveying and location tracking. Status is conveyed through LEDs for power, Ethernet, GPS, and link, while a factory reset button enables quick recovery. The dual ARM Cortex-A53 processor at 1 GHz and 512 MB of DDR3L memory ensure responsive operation.
