Performance and Throughput

The Balance 20X delivers a router throughput of 1 Gbps, making it ideal for demanding branch-office environments. The integrated CAT-4 LTE modem achieves up to 150 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink, serving as a reliable failover connection. SpeedFusion VPN provides encrypted site-to-site tunnels with a throughput of 100 Mbps (unencrypted) or 60 Mbps (256-bit AES). Built-in load balancing supports multiple algorithms—including Weighted, Priority, Overflow, Least Used, Lowest Latency, and Fastest Response Time—to optimize utilization of all WAN connections. Advanced QoS allows prioritization of applications such as SIP, HTTPS, and VPN, as well as bandwidth allocation per user group.

Design and Power Supply

With dimensions of just 160 x 262 x 33 mm and a weight of 180 g, the Balance 20X can be installed in nearly any environment with minimal space requirements. Power is supplied via a DC input (10–30 V), with typical power consumption of 9 W (maximum 28 W). The operating temperature range of -10 °C to 45 °C and humidity tolerance of 15% to 95% (non-condensing) ensure reliable performance even in harsh conditions. The FlexModule Mini slot allows optional integration of expansion modules, such as LoRaWAN connectivity. A USB port is available as an additional WAN interface for external 4G/3G modems.

Security and Compliance

The Balance 20X meets regulatory requirements under FCC, CE, and RoHS standards. The integrated stateful firewall protects the network from unauthorized access, while DoS prevention and web blocking/filtering with blacklist functionality provide additional layers of security. A captive portal with support for wired and wireless clients, along with RADIUS authentication, enforces usage policies—including time and volume quotas in open-access mode. VPN encryption with 256-bit AES secures data transmission between locations.

Use Cases

The Balance 20X is ideally suited as a primary or failover router for small branch offices, retail stores, or remote locations with up to 60 users. Thanks to the FlexModule Mini slot, it can also serve as an IoT gateway for LoRaWAN sensor networks—such as for environmental monitoring, smart building integration, or logistics tracking. The combination of wired gigabit WAN, LTE failover, and optional USB modem support ensures always-available internet connectivity, while SpeedFusion VPN secures business-critical communication between sites.
